What is CannSell Expert Certification and why is it important?
CannSell Expert is an advanced certification program for cannabis retailers who want to ensure that their employees have the cannabis knowledge they need to sell cannabis products safely and accurately, as well as provide accurate customer experience. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), which regulates cannabis retail stores in the province, created and approved the CannSell training program, the province’s only certification program, for all retail management and staff, and it is now a mandatory course that trains retail staff how to legally sell cannabis.
CannSell focuses on preventing cannabis sales to minors and alcoholic individuals who may endanger their own or others’ lives as a result of product usage, by teaching employees to deliver responsible customer service. CannSell Expert is a 25-hour training program available to cannabis sellers in Canada. To legally work in Ontario cannabis retail, CannSell Expert certification holders must also have their CannSell Standard certification.
Who should have CannSell Expert Certification?
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has now mandated CannSell Retail Training Certification for all cannabis retail store employees including managers, supervisors and store owners before opening and to get CannSell certification, you must score 80% or higher on the online exam.
